It started with a hard core race car.
We tried my swoopy modern takeoff.
But it didn't fit the hard exterior.
I found this Dakota Digital Dash. It seemed like the perfect place to start.
So I figured out a functional system right at my fingertips so I could operate anything without taking my eyes off the road.
So based on that, I quickly laid out a functional fighter jet concept.
First we taped off the interior
Then we fiber glassed a new pillar around the roll cage
All that work to end up with this.
Here's a top view of the dash, with the pillar in place.
Here another view of the dash with passenger pillar in place. Note the pull down center sections for camera screens and other controls.
Here the revision #5 ; ) on the switch plan.
Fitting the new switches. On the table to the left are the multiple layers that will make up the dash face.
Getting them in place. The clear rings inside the buttons will light up blue.
To match the blue cockpit illumination wherever there is exposed acrylic.
